Children in Gaza are enduring one of the most devastating humanitarian crises of our time. The ongoing war has left families with no food, no shelter, and no way to protect their children from violence, hunger, and disease. With famine now confirmed and the death toll rising every day, immediate and large-scale humanitarian support is no longer just necessary—it is a matter of life and death.
More than half a million people in Gaza are trapped in famine conditions, and children are dying from malnutrition. Infants, pregnant women, and displaced families are living without access to clean water, food, medicine, or safe shelter. Hospitals are overwhelmed, and children who survive bombings are arriving severely undernourished and traumatised.
“Gaza City remains home to tens of thousands of children… Amputee children struggle through the dust. Mothers carry children whose skin is bleeding from rashes.”
— UNICEF spokesperson James Elder (UNICEF, 3 October 2025)
Children are starving and displaced
The scale of destruction is unprecedented. According to UNICEF, at least 63,000 children have been reported killed or injured, with thousands more cut off from medical care, education, and the most basic essentials needed to survive. Nearly 1.9 million children are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance, and that number is rising.
Displacement has become a daily reality. Families have been forced to flee their homes multiple times, often on foot and with nothing but the clothes they are wearing. Many now live in overcrowded tent camps or makeshift shelters, where disease and hunger spread rapidly. One hospital in Gaza City reportedly sees 60 to 80 children per day admitted for malnutrition and related illness (UNICEF, 2025).
Schools and shelters are being bombed. Tents are set on fire by airstrikes. The so-called “safe zones” are not safe.
How we are responding
Our humanitarian aid programme is mobilising urgent assistance to reach children and families across Gaza. Together with trusted partners, we are working to get essential supplies into the hands of those who need them most, including:
- food parcels and emergency nutrition support for children and infants
- wheat flour to keep local bakeries producing bread
- hot meals prepared in community kitchens for displaced families
- clean water, hygiene kits and sanitation support
- medical supplies for mothers, newborns, and those suffering from severe malnutrition
Every aid delivery is a race against time. Access remains limited. Needs are growing by the hour.
What you can do
This crisis is not just a tragedy. It is a failure of global protection. But we can still act.
You can help by:
- donating now – every euro brings lifesaving food, medicine, and water
- sharing this message – raise awareness, be a voice for Gaza’s children
- starting a local fundraiser or aid collection – support starts with community action
A small gift can provide a child with food for a week. A larger gift can help supply a hospital or shelter. Every donation matters.
We cannot wait
The children of Gaza cannot afford for the world to look away. The suffering is not hidden—it is happening in front of us. In hospitals, in shelters, and in the rubble of destroyed homes, children are crying out for help.
“New mothers and vulnerable newborns lying on the floor. Three premature babies share a single oxygen source—each child breathing for twenty minutes, before giving way to the next.”
— UNICEF, 3 October 2025
This is not a natural disaster. This is the result of decisions, policies, and war. And it is children who are paying the price.
Help us deliver hope, food, and care to Gaza’s children
Now is the time to act. Before more lives are lost. Before more children are taken by hunger or fear. Humanitarian aid is not charity—it is a responsibility.
